Candle Ideas

Great candle gift and favor project.

Sea Shell candles make great gifts, favors or decorations for beach theme parties.
All supplies needed for this project, except sea shells, can be found on our candle making page

You will need: Sea shells of various shapes and sizes
Wax, either from tea light candles or blocks
Pre-wicked wire wick clips, either purchased separately or removed from tea light candles.
A bowl half filled with either sand or rice to stabilized shells while wax is poured and cooling

Step 1:
Place shell in sand or rice half filled bowl

Step 2:
Place pre-wicked wire wick clip in center of shell

Either chop wax from block or use the wax from tea lights.
Melt in either a double boiler on medium for approx. 5 minutes or
for 6 minutes on high in a microwave oven using a glass measuring cup

Step 4:

VERY Carefully, using a potholder, slowly pour the melted wax in the shell.
